Mike is the author and self-publisher of two successful self-published books: Autos To Airwaves, Mantle To the Mob, and Cinemental Journeys. He’s navigated the treacherous path of self-publishing, and will guide around the potholes and pitfalls. Earlier, Mike was an award-winning writer and editor for Pitch Weekly, and also contributed to other publications like Kansas City Magazine and EKC. Mike also teaches popular writing and self-publishing classes at UMKC’s communiversity.
An experienced book marketer, Mike has received personal training from John Kremer, author of 1001 ways to Market Your Book, and marketing guru for the Chicken Soup book series. Mike has made numerous TV and radio appearances, including Kansas City’s Walt Bodine public radio show and the popular St. Louis news program ‘Show Me St. Louis.’ His books have been featured in publications like the Kansas City Star, the Independence Examiner, and 50& Better. Mike has also held successful book signings at Barnes and Noble, Borders, and the Kansas City Store.

Vicki is a former editor of the University of Missouri at Kansas City newspaper, and has also done freelance work for Pitch in Kansas City. An honors graduate from UMKC and a former Missouri state representative, Vicki also hosts her own radio show in Kansas City on 90.1 KKFI.
